Cultural Differences
Masomo Mbele has noticed another challenge faced by refugees and migrants’ workers as well as their children and youth in general is the cultural differences. The Australian legal system is often shaped by the culture norms and values of the Australian’s society, which may differ significantly from the cultural traditions of refugees and migrants’ workers as well as their children and youth. This can lead to misunderstanding and conflicts when trying to navigate the Australian legal system. To address this challenge, Masomo Mbele Foundation has created this program to provide cultural education for refugees and migrants workers, their children and youth as well.
Our aim is to support the Australian Government and go further to provide more in-depth and meaningful support to refugees with lived experience. We want to create a more equitable justice system; effective and proactive measures need to be taken to distribute culturally appropriate information and trainings.
